Well, 2018 was a rollercoaster of a year in so many ways! DMR Collation achieved so much and there were so many events to reflect on that in this article we thought we’d take a look back at the year in a bit more focus.
It was a fantastic start to the year when not only were DMR Collation shortlisted, but Highly Commended in the category of Supporting the Industry at The Modern Law Awards. This was a massive honour and a sign of things to come as the nominations flowed steadily throughout the year!
In March we were listed as finalists in thePractice Efficiency award at the LegalEx and Legal Cyber Security Awards and shortlisted in the Legal Week Innovation Awards for Innovation Supplier Technology and Innovation Supplier Services.
Caroline Packer, our Managing Director, was shortlisted in the category of Visionary Leadership in the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX)national awards.
In October the firm was shortlisted for MedicoLegal Provider of the year in the Personal Injury Awards and lastly in December we were thrilled to have been notified of our shortlisting yet again in the Modern Law Awards 2019 in the category of Supporting the Industry, the results of which we find out about later this month.
In August, CAROLINE Packer, DMR Collation’s founder and managing director, was approved as an expert for The Association of Child Abuse Lawyers (ACAL). ACAL was founded by lawyers for the benefit of victims of child abuse to fight for compensation for physical, sexual and emotional abuse of children and adults abused in childhood. Its primary aim is to improve standards among personal injury lawyers involved in this specialised area of compensation litigation. Caroline was honoured to have been approved as an expert for ACAL and delighted to be able to make a contribution in such a valuable field. As she stated at the time; “It is vital victims can access expert help and advice in what is a highly sensitive and delicate sphere of legal work. Our unique blend of medical, legal and administrative staff ensures that DMR Collation is well equipped to complete collation and analysis work in abuse cases”. This accreditation has led to lots more work of this type for DMR Collation!
On the 21st and 22nd March we exhibited at the LegalEx Conference.
Taking place at the ExCeL in London this conference is aimed at legal professionals and aims to provide information on the latest tools, products, services, resources and innovations that are changing the game in legal business growth and data security.
In April we exhibited at the Annual Association of Personal Injury Lawyers conference. This was a popular event with the theme being ‘Securing justice for a modern society’.
We exhibited at the Association of Personal Injury Lawyer’s annual clinical negligence conference at the Celtic Manor in Newport on 4th and 5th October. The theme for the conference was ‘orthopaedics’ and it provided an overview of key medical and legal issues in clinical negligence.
In October we took to the road again as we sponsored the MASS AGM in advance of their conference in Sheffield on the 17th.
The focus for this conference was on current hot topics for road traffic accident and personal injury practitioners.
Not something we plan on doing every year, but this was certainly a move that needed to be made! Employee expansion and an uptake in the amount of matters being received meant that we were in the market for some more office space – and we found it in the form of Unit 9, Bowker House!
Just down the road from our old premises in Ivybridge but offering much more space the move has been a success and we are now fully installed and functioning with a lot more space to move!
As 2019 sees us taking on even more staff, new clients and even more matters than ever before, the space is needed…and already getting filled up quickly!
2018 gave us so much, we are excited to see what 2019 brings…!
