With 2019 near its end and 2020 imminently approaching, we thought it would be worthwhile doing a recap of what has been a fantastic year so far for DMR Collation!
We started the year on a high in January with the news that our Managing Director had been shortlisted for Chartered Legal Executive of the Year 2019 in the Devon and Somerset Law Society’s Legal Awards. This was a huge honour and Caroline was justifiably proud of being selected for such a highly contended category.
In February, we were delighted to hear that we had been highly commended in the category of Supporting the Industry at the Modern Law Awards 2019 for the second year running. Also, this month we started collaborated with Arag, who are a leading provider of insurance services offering cover for all types of personal injury and contract cases. Their products cover own disbursements (including our pagination costs) and opponent’s costs and are available for both personal and business customers.
In March we celebrated our 9-year anniversary. It was back in 2010 that our Managing Director first established DMR from a home office. In the years since she has overseen a move to large commercial premises and now manages 10 office-based employees and several remote workers! It’s fair to say that DMR Collation has gone from strength to strength in the last 9 years.
In March Kat Beasley joined our ever expanding Administration Team. Kat’s previous role was that of a Care Co-Ordinator at a private nursing home and has prior support worker and healthcare assistant experience alongside strong IT skills which has made her a great addition to our team.
In May we recruited an in-house Legal Consultant. Jane Canning, a highly experienced Clinical Negligence Litigation Executive and an accredited APIL Senior litigator, has over 29 years’ experience within the field of clinical negligence and has proved invaluable to the work we do here at DMR Collation and assists with the finalisation of our chronologies and memorandums.
In June, our Managing Director Caroline exhibited at Law 2019 Plymouth, part of the Solicitors Group’s road show of legal exhibitions and conferences taking place up and down the country. There she demonstrated our products and services to over 300 delegates and watched leading speakers updating delegates with the most recent developments and changes within Personal Injury and Family law.
In late June our new Office Manager, Adam Fisher, joined our team. Adam has proven to be an invaluable asset and has been working hard to make us ready for our scheduled ISO 9001 and 27001 audit next month.
In September our Managing Director, Caroline, attended the CILEx National Awards 2019 which were held at Madame Tussauds in London and hosted by Claudia Winkleman. Caroline was Highly Commended for the CILEx Visionary Leadership Award, as well as being Shortlisted in the category of Legal Expert.
October was Cyber Security Month so what better time to learn that we had become Cyber Essentials certified? Cyber Essentials is a widely recognised, government-backed scheme that assists businesses in protecting themselves against cyber-attacks, viruses and malware.
In November The Personal Injury Awards ceremony 2019 took place where we were finalists in both categories we entered – Medicolegal Provider of the Year and the Supporting the Industry Award and just last week we were given the fantastic news that we have been shortlisted for the Supporting the Industry award at the Modern Law Awards 2020 for the third successive year!
This has been a wonderful year and we are, as ever, grateful for the continued support from all of our clients. We wish you a happy and healthy year and hope that 2020 brings you every success.
