It’s been eight years since DMR Collation was launched and founder and managing director Caroline Packer and her team are celebrating and looking forward to the future.
The award-winning business has undergone huge changes and growth since 2010 when Caroline, a former personal injury lawyer, started the company.
Eight years on and she now has her own commercial premises and has recently taken on four new administrative staff members to add to the growing team.
Caroline’s legal career began when after gaining her law degree, she worked as a legal secretary for a firm of Defendant solicitors in their clinical negligence department. From there, she was quickly taken on as a paralegal and began her CILEx studies in her spare time to qualify as a civil litigation lawyer.
Her paralegal work involved collating medical records and preparing them to be sent for expert review and this is where her interest and experience in collation started.
Over the next few years, Caroline progressed to become a supervisor then team leader, in charge of a team of Claimant personal injury lawyers.
Having started a family, Caroline wanted to find a way to fit her legal career around her two children.
A former colleague had started a business providing collation services which gave Caroline her idea and is where DMR Collation was born.
In 2010 she secured her first client, Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, and from then, the only way has been up.
In 2014, Caroline took the plunge to concentrate on the business full time and the following year it became a limited company.
In October 2016, the growing business moved into its first commercial premises which opened up the chance or further expansion with more staff and additional services.
There have been some major accolades achieved along the way.
In October last year Caroline won the President’s Award from CILEx for her contribution to the legal community.
In January the company was highly commended in the Modern Law Awards in the category Supporting the Industry (1 to 25 employees).
And only this week, it was announced that the business has been shortlisted for the Practice Efficiency Award at the Legal and Cyber Security Awards being held later this month in London.
The future is looking bright with DMR Collation looking to bring in even more services and provide even bigger benefits for clients.
