An End of Year Greeting from our Managing Director, Caroline Packer

As we approach the end of another year, I wanted to take this opportunity to reflect on the past 12 months and express my gratitude to DMRs clients, employees, and nurse analysts who have supported us along the way. DMR have had an incredible year, with so much to be proud of. Here are just some of our standout achievements: Maintaining accreditation by PAGE and ISO 9001 and 27001. Receiving Cyber Essentials accreditation. Being selected as a shortlisted finalist at the Personal Injury Awards. Exhibiting at the St John’s Chambers Catastrophic Injury Conference. Introducing our new Radiology Hosting Service in collaboration with MCB. Expanding our team by hiring two additional Nurse Analysts. Submitting a Response to the Supplementary Consultation on LDFRC 2023. As I look back on the past year, I am grateful for the unwavering support of our clients and staff. Your loyalty and dedication have allowed DMR Collation to continue to grow and improve, and I am excited for what next year will bring. Looking ahead to 2024, I will continue to focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences, developing new solutions to meet evolving needs, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Stay tuned, as I will have some exciting news to share with you after the New Year!

Our Response to Question 2 of the supplementary consultation on disbursements for FRC proposed in LDCN claims

DMR Collation's has responded today to Question 2 of Department of Health and Social Care Consultation "Fixed recoverable costs in lower damages clinical negligence claims - a supplementary consultation on disbursements" which has been reopened today for additional submissions until 22 December 2023 due to an error in the original online survey. DMR Collation's alternative proposal is that pagination fees be considered separately from fixed costs and provided as an additional recoverable disbursement.

Cyber Essentials Certification

DMR Collation has been granted Cyber Essentials certification, adding to its existing ISO 9001 and 27001 accreditations. Cyber Essentials is a government-backed scheme that helps organisations protect themselves from cyber threats, and certification involves an independent assessment of an organisation's security measures. Certification must be renewed annually to ensure that security measures remain up-to-date and effective. However, Cyber Essentials certification is not a substitute for other cybersecurity standards and practices, and DMR Collation has implemented additional security measures to protect against cyber threats.

The Collation Myth – Our MD highlights exactly what is involved in pagination work

As all those who are in the know understand, collating medical records is a much more complex and time-consuming task than simply numbering pages, a fact which isn’t helped by our industry name as “paginators”. The work that paginators do in the legal industry is very much understated and often undervalued. Unless you have completed this type of work yourself in some capacity, you will likely not appreciate the skill and knowledge which goes into completing pagination work in a professional, efficient and cost effective manner. Whilst some organisations keep their records in meticulous order, many do not, and that is where the work completed by pagination, aka collation, companies become invaluable. An experienced collator has the skills and knowledge to easily recognise medical documents and present them in an easy to navigate order, whilst at the same time completing the most important part of all, which is to identify what crucial records are missing.

Please can we ask for your help?

We are in the process of submitting an entry for DMR Collation in the 2023 Personal Injury Law Awards for the category of Supporting the Industry. As a valued client, it would be really helpful if you are able to provide evidence of any of all of the required criteria which need to be established.  This can be either by providing us with a 30 second video testimonial or a similar written testimonial we can use in our application. The criteria is as follows: 1. How do DMR Collation identify and meet industry needs effectively and efficiently? 2. In what ways do they add value to your operations? 3. How do they forge and maintain excellent relationships across the industry? 4. Where and how do they go the extra mile for you? 5. What recognition have they received from you?

Announcing our New Radiology Hosting Service

The copying and sharing of radiology images in personal injury and clinical negligence claims has, in the past, proven to be a problem for many of our clients.  This information which is often shared digitally or on a physical CD Rom is easily corrupted, strictly password protected, and requires specific installed software to be viewed by the end user, with the result being a very time intensive process. Many reported problems include: Being unable to install appropriate viewing software. CD Rom of radiology becoming corrupted or breaking during posting. Download size being too large for sharing. Supplied password being incorrect. Disproportionate amount of time being required to view imaging. As such we are excited to announce a solution to these problems through our collaboration with Medical Clerical Bureau (MCB) for the storage and sharing of radiology images on their secure online platform – The Archive Bureau (TAB). We have negotiated for our clients competitive pricing for this service.  If you are interested in this service, please email MCB at and copy us in at, so MCB can send you their terms of business and service proposal for agreement.
